Privacy notice for location alerts

This notice explains brianda.cloud’s optional visitor location-alert feature.

What happens if you accept

When you select “Accept and continue”, you authorize an email to the site owner on each visit. The email contains your IP address, visited page, timestamp, and approximate location (city, region, and country) derived from the IP address.

On phones, the browser may also ask for precise location permission. If you allow it, the email includes latitude, longitude, and approximate accuracy. This is a separate permission and can be refused without preventing you from using the site.

Services and recipients

Approximate IP-based location is obtained through ipapi.co after consent. The email is sent to the brianda.cloud owner’s mailbox. No alert is sent if you select “Continue without alerts”.

How to withdraw consent

Delete the brianda_visit_alert_consent and brianda_device_location_consent cookies in your browser. For precise location, you can also change the site’s location permission in browser settings. When you refuse or withdraw consent, this feature sends no further alerts.
